Albrighton Community Garden
We are clearing and replanting the beds outside Albrighton Community Fridge which provides a food bank service for around 100 families per day. We plant veg and herbs that can be handed out at the Fridge, and flowers/plants that make it more beautiful to visit. Community members enjoy watching things grow and learning more about the plants as we go.

It's Wednesday night and we're doing it right...it's also our group run night!

After 3 years as AA of GG Southwark, Sam is hanging up his GG wings as a new era begins. Join him for his last group run as AA as we will be running from Old Spike Peckham to Albrighton Community Garden to assist Elodie (task owner) with taking out ivy that has overgrown this community centre's garden. There's plans to plant fruit trees in the winter, so she would like to get this area prepared as best as possible.

After doing good, there will be a goodbye social at 80-20 Wines (Georgian Wine Bar) next door before we progress to Nag's Head.

New to GoodGym Southwark?

Not to worry, it can be daunting coming to your first group run, but we are so welcoming whether you're just starting out as a runner or have been running for years. We welcome all!

Here's the important information - the "Where, When and What":

๐Ÿ“ We meet at Old Spike Peckham between 18:30-18:45. You can also meet us at the task: Albrighton Community Centre, 37 Albrighton Rd, London SE22 8AH at 19:15.

โŒš 18:30 (leaving at 18:40 latest). If meeting at task, be there for 19:15. We will be back in Peckham by 20:15 (latest).

โœ… There will be access to Old Spike Peckham, so you can drop your bags and use their toilets before we head out.

๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ After a quick warm-up, we run together as a group. If there are loads of us, there will be a back marker to ensure no one is left behind. On this run, we will be running 2k each way. Running at a medium pace to get to the task in 15 minutes. We will spend 40-45 minutes doing the tasks mentioned above (or as much as we can) before running back to finish by 20:15.

Advisable: Head torch ๐Ÿ”ฆ for the run and gardening gloves ๐Ÿงค for the task.

Walkable

You will be able to join a group walking to the task if you'd prefer not to run.

Options are available to run between 2km and 4km in total

Remember that we run/walk to and from the task, so you'll only be running/walking for half this distance in one go.

This is a standard GoodGym group run. If you're worried about any aspect of the session, contact us.
