Kilburn Oasis**Please remember to sign up * We will be leafleting in the Kilburn area to raise awareness of an exciting Kilburn Oasis Event which will be held on Friday 20th September 2024 12.30- 18.00 We will also ask people to contribute to a survey to discuss the future of the Kilburn High Road end of Priory Park Road . We meet at Beer + Burger - we can leave bags securely and there are some toilet facilities. Do try not to bring too much and remember all items are left at your own risk. It’s a 2km run each way, but no one will be left behind!
If you prefer to meet us at the Task then we will meet at Priory Park Road NW6 7UT at 720 pm and deliver leaflets around there.
What are we sharing awareness of and why? The end of Priory Park Road is an obvious space to create a new green space (which has been dubbed Kilburn Oasis) for the resident community and visitors/shoppers that frequent the Kilburn High Road, as it is a no through road which prevent cars using the road as a cut through to residential streets behind the bollards at Ryde House. It is situated on the Brent side of the Kilburn High Road. A survey will take place online and in person during and before and after the events listed to gain the opinion of local people about the way this road can be improved or if they prefer it to be kept as a car park) They will also be asked about how they envisage the use of this road space. The survey can be accessed here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SM7PZ65 The theme of the Kilburn Oasis Project ties in with World Car Free Day info link World Car Free Day 2024 which takes place every year on 22nd September. The Kilburn Oasis Day takes place on the Friday 20th September in order to tie in with the Kilburn Grange School Community who are daily affected by the road conditions outside their school. The event day will include music, food, entertainment and information for all. The event will focus around healthier lifestyle, with themes of cycling , walking, using public transport instead of a car , health improvement though active travel or walking.
If you would like to contribute on the day of the Oasis event with putting turf down, marshalling, managing activities such as bubble blowing and juice bar, please let us know and I can put you in touch with the organisers.
